Unique collection blends colour and shapes with a touch of wildlife

Heylie Morris is best known for her colourful Australian wildlife paintings, incorporating acrylics
and oils into her work as she dances the line between abstract and realism art.

More recently, Heylie has explored the mixed media side of art.

You will find bright bold new works that incorporate her continual love of birds and wildlife while introducing powerful female images and symbolic animals.

In August 2022, Heylie opened up her new space “HM Studio”, located at 12/321 Pakington Street, Newtown.

There is a large range of original artworks and prints in store as well as a lovely curated collection of
local handmade artisanal products including candles, ceramics, books and jewellery.

“I have been live painting on Saturdays with much interest from passers-by and feel completely embraced in the local community,” Heylie said.

In the near future, Heylie will offer one-on-one and small group art lessons at her new studio on weekends.

“As an art mentor with online students, this has been something on my to do list for quite a long time to be in person and have that personal connection – stay tuned for this,” she said.

Heylie has worked with some fantastic companies that have embraced her art, and has had great success.

“Recently I launched with my favourite brand Urban Road, and it’s been a fantastic launch,” she said.

Heylie is offering more than 30 artworks from her dynamic collection of animals and female figures to choose from.

Her work focuses on the playfulness of Australian cockatoos and other native birds, as well as the majestic, powerful beauty of tigers, leopards and jaguars.

The collection uses unique blends of colour and shapes, focusing on graphic brush strokes, detailed designs, and impactful colour palettes.
