Liz Pattison
Occupation: Mayor at Surf Coast Shire.
Resides: Torquay.
How long have you lived in your ward? I have lived in the beautiful Surf Coast for eight years.
Community involvement: I’m a mother of four, an engineer, a volunteer and a council leader. I’ve loved representing you on Council over the past four years, including two of those as Mayor.
Associated with a political party or movement?
I am an independent candidate.
Preferencing: My values align with Phoebe Crocket and Martin Duke. I’ll leave it up to our community to make up their own mind.
Campaign budget? Receiving financial assistance? I am raising funds through a Mental health first aid course and a Kids clothes swap (Saturday, October 12).
Three most important issues in your ward?
My focus for a healthy connected community on the Surf Coast is the following three areas: Healthy – protect our environment, advancing climate action, and reducing waste to landfill. Connected – improve accessibility for all through improved foot and bike paths. Community – foster strong social connection through support for our Community grants and facilities and be mindful of cost-of-living pressures, ensuring efficient use of resources to continue to deliver excellent local government services.
