Competition Terms & Conditions

 

  1. The promoter is: Times News Group whose registered office is at 95 Beach Rd, Torquay, 3228.
  2. The competition is open to residents of Australia aged 18 years or over except employees of Times News Group and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.
  3. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition, however the entrant is further subscribed to the local paper email.
  4. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  5. Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are via http://freelocalnews/surfcoasttimes or https://www.facebook.com/surfcoasttimes.
  6. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.
  7. Closing date for entry will be outlined on the website and social media. After this date the no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
  8. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  9. The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows:

You must subscribe to one of the Local papers at Times News Group via the link on the website, unless otherwise stated if the competition is run purely on social media.  In this case the details on how to enter will be displayed on the relevant social media channel.

  1. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  2. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
  3. The prize is as follows:

The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

  1. Winners will be chosen:
    At random by software if subscribing online method, or using specialized social media random selection software if entering online.
  2. The winner will be notified by email and/or Facebook within 3 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
  3. The promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected / is delivered.
  4. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  5. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  6. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Australian law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
  7. The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current Australian data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
  8. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  9. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter or any other Social Network. You are providing your information to Times News group and not to any other party.
  10. Times News Group‘s decision as to those able to take part and selection of winners is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered into.
  11. Times News Group shall have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage.
  12. Times News group also reserves the right to cancel the competition if circumstances arise outside of its control.

 

Surf Coast Community $10,000 AFL Tipping Competition

This year’s competition will see tipsters playing for a select group of community recipients, whilst also attempting to win individual prizes.

Community Bank Surf Coast has provided the funding for the community prizes which will be awarded based on their individual tipsters end of year position. Surf Coast Times have provided the enhanced audience, media profile and also individual weekly and end of year prizes.

The total community groups prize pool is $10,000
First Prize $5,000, Second Prize $3,000, Third Prize $1,500 and Fourth Prize $500. With all winning funds provided to the community group the individual tipster has selected.

The competition is housed and run on the ESPN footytips website. Rules on how to tip and leaderboards will be found on the Surf Coast Community $10,000 AFL Tipping Competition dashboard at https://www.footytips.com.au/comps/ESPN_FOOTY_TIPS

The 19 Groups that you can play for are (in no particular order)
Winchelsea SES, Lorne Football Netball Club, Friends of the Barwon, Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club, Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS), Freshwater Creek CFA, Winchelsea Football & Netball Club, Anglesea Football Netball Club, Modewarre Football and Netball Club, Lorne Aquatic & Angling Club, Growing Winchelsea, Angair, Moriac Community Network Inc (MCN), Bellbrae CFA, Deans Marsh Primary School, Lorne P-12, Aireys CFA, Anglesea RSL, Lorne Men’s Shed.

It costs nothing to enter, but if you win your impact on a Surf Coast community group could be huge. As an added bonus, you have the potential of individual weekly prizes as provided by Surf Coast Times.

 

Weekly Prizes

Weekly prizes are given away at random, with all participants eligible to win each week of the AFL Home & Away Season (24 Rounds). All participants are assigned a number that goes into an online selector. The online selector will choose one number at random. That number will be the weekly winner. The weekly highest tipster does not win a prize. Although, they are included in the weekly random draw.

Competition dates 

The Surf Coast Community $10,000 AFL Tipping Competition runs from March 1st, 2023 until August 27th, 2023 (Round 24 of the 2023 AFL Season.

Community groups prize pool winners will be announced on August 28th, 2023 at 10 am.

Weekly random winners will be announced each Monday at 10am after each round of the 2023 AFL Home & Away Season.
