AFFILIATION: Libertarian Party

Joel Grist

Occupation: Manager and Principal Chiropractor at Colac Chiropractic and Lifeline Chiropractic Torquay.

Resides: Torquay.

How long have you lived in your ward? 21 years.

Community involvement: Serving the Community and businesses through my work, 10 year committee member and past president of Geelong Little Athletics Centre and our Little Athletics Club, as well as volunteer work with the many other community sports my three boys have been involved in. Volunteer at Winchelsea Market.

Associated with a political party or movement?

I have a membership with the Libertarian Party and the Chiropractors Association of Australia.

Preferencing: Nobody.

Campaign budget? Receiving financial assistance? $1,500-2,000, mostly self funded with donations from friends.

Three most important issues in your ward?

Community surveys show overall dissatisfaction with council direction, engagement processes, and transparency. Council delays for a new industrial estate and other development approvals in Winchelsea are stifling business growth and prosperity of the town. Not to mention council’s failure to lobby state government for upgrades and relocation of Winchelsea school.
