Tony Phelps

Occupation: Websites for small organisations.

Resides: Winchelsea.

How long have you lived in your ward? 17 years.

Community involvement: Lieutenant volunteer firefighter in Wurdale Brigade (15 years), Chair of Winchelsea Community House (6 years), Secretary of The Winchelsea Star community newspaper (11 years), principal in the Winchelsea Community Action Plan, sound system for Carols/ANZAC Day/Remembrance Day, sound effects for Winchelsea Repertory Society plays, petitioned for restoration and reopening of school sports hall.

Associated with a political party or movement?

Never.

Preferencing: I don’t believe in preferencing, voters should make their own assessment and make up their own minds for order of preference.

Campaign budget? Receiving financial assistance? Budget is minimal and as needed, no set amount. Entirely self-financed (open to donations from individuals!)

Three most important issues in your ward? Quicker road repairs for safer, smoother travel. Fostering connections through community-powered events, programs and activities for mental wellbeing. A balanced and sustainable budget, because there are dark financial clouds on the horizon.
