Let’s talk legal, medical and funeral planning

October 6, 2023 BY

Alyson Burchell and Sue Marshman from Tuckers Funeral and Bereavement Service invite you to an interactive presentation

In a world where we are doing our own banking, swiping our own groceries at the supermarket, and if you need an answer, Google it; Alyson Burchell and Sue Marshman from Tuckers Funeral and Bereavement Service invite you to an interactive presentation where no swiping , Googling, or app finding is required – you can simply attend.

The afternoon is designed to give attendees specific legal, medical, and funeral information relating to end-of-life matters.

“Estate planning can help you organise your thoughts and clarify your wishes,” Succession Legal’s Amy Fisher said.

“It can bring you comfort, knowing that those close to you will be looked after when you pass away.

“And it can help you to control what happens to your hard-earned assets and valuable belongings.”

How do you minimise taxation for your beneficiaries? How do you deal with any debts? Should your real estate be sold? Is there anyone likely to take legal action against your estate?

When dealing with a deceased person’s estate, where do you start? What happens if there’s no will, or someone says the will is invalid? Amy will be able to answer questions such as these and is a leader in her field, she presents what can be a complicated web in clear and relatable ways.

Dr Deborah Harley completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery having a special interest in palliative care and passionately conveys the importance of everyone having an Advanced Care Directive. An Advance Care Directive is a way to say what healthcare treatments you would like to have or refuse, should you be in a position where you are seriously ill or injured and unable to make or communicate decisions about your care and treatment.

Deb is a great communicator and presents what can be a sensitive subject in a personal and empowering way.

To conclude the afternoon, funeral directors Alyson and Sue, who specialise in funeral plans, will answer questions, offer, and provide information about the different options available today, the associated costs and what measures can be taken to ensure those left behind are supported and protected from the full emotional and financial responsibilities associated with arranging a funeral.

The Tuckers Funeral and Bereavement Service event will be held at Tuckers Chapel in Grovedale (corner of Torquay and Pioneer roads) on October 18 from 1.30-3.30pm.

To attend, RSVP to Tuckers on 5221 4788 or at [email protected]
