Students train as part of Western Heights College's high-performance sports program, supported by purpose-designed apparel built for performance and confidence.

WHEN Western Heights College set out to challenge students to be the very best they can be, the school required apparel that mirrored this ambition.

Indigo Wolf, founded by former physical education teachers who understand the rigours of school sports, was selected to design and create custom sporting apparel for the inaugural year of the school’s high-performance sports program.

This was not just about aesthetics; it was about providing elite apparel for an elite program that allowed student-athletes and coaches in AFL, basketball, netball and soccer to “chase their dreams” with confidence.

The technical excellence of the gear is critical.

Utilising innovative fabrics designed for Australian conditions, the partnership ensures that whether a student is on the AFL field or the basketball court, their uniform performs as well as they do.

Seamless connection

Beyond the quality of the garments, the partnership has modernised the school’s logistical operations. Western Heights College transitioned to a custom online shop managed by Indigo Wolf from its Torquay warehouse.

This system allows families to order directly and receive shipments to their homes, removing the administrative burden from the school while ensuring students always have access to the kit they need.

Values in alignment

The partnership is rooted in a shared commitment to community and integrity.

Indigo Wolf’s co-founder, Nathan Sayers – the 2025 Business Leader of the Year – has built a brand focused on people and exceptional service, mirroring Western Heights College’s focus on developing the whole athlete.

As Indigo Wolf introduces ethical brands like Patagonia to the education sector, the partnership aligns with the growing emphasis on sustainability in the Geelong region.

Ultimately, the Indigo Wolf and Western Heights College partnership is more than a commercial agreement; it is a vital part of the school’s identity.

As the school’s high-performance program continues to grow, Indigo Wolf remains instrumental in ensuring every student-athlete wears their uniform with pride and integrity.

Principal’s perspective

Western Heights College principal Fiona Taylor is extremely proud of the school’s ongoing partnership with Indigo Wolf and the positive impact it has on students, families and the wider school community.

“Since 2020, Indigo Wolf has worked closely with us to design high-quality, sport-specific apparel that reflects our specialist sports program’s high-performance culture and gives our student-athletes a strong sense of pride and belonging,” Taylor said.

“The move to a dedicated online shop and direct-to-family ordering has been a significant benefit, reducing administrative workload while ensuring students can reliably access the gear required, when they need it.

“Just as importantly, Indigo Wolf’s commitment to people, service and increasingly sustainable, ethically sourced products aligns closely with our own values and vision for developing well-rounded young people who strive to be their best on and off the field.”

Together, Taylor said, the collaboration has become an important part of Western Heights College’s identity, helping students wear their colours with confidence and reinforcing a culture of aspiration, teamwork and community.
