A creative call to artists, designers and dreamers
HOOP Gallery is thrilled to announce that expressions of interest (EOIs) for the first half of its 2026 exhibition calendar are officially open.
Following the gallery’s explosive reopening this month and a jam-packed 2025 schedule, Hoop is inviting artists to help shape the future of the gallery.
The 2026 line-up offers opportunities for a wide range of creatives to get involved.
In February, 3D designers are invited to showcase exhibition-ready work, from furniture and fashion to jewellery and architecture, while March will see the launch of ASCEND, a dedicated platform for artists aged 15-25 living in the G21 region.
April brings two unique opportunities: The Soul of Surfing, a celebration of Torquay’s surf culture, and a Digital Interactive Exhibition spotlighting artists working in virtual and augmented reality, and artificial intelligence.
Sculptors will then fill the gallery with form and volume in May, while an “open call” in June invites artists across Australia to present high-quality bodies of work in any medium.
Ms Virginia Aldred, president of Hoop Gallery, said this round of 2026 exhibitions are something special.
“We’re not just a gallery — we’re a creative destination for inspiration and innovation. This EOI round is designed to spark diversity, experimentation, and bold new ideas. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just starting out, we want to hear from you,” Ms Aldred said.
“An absolute highlight exhibition next April is our Digital Interactive Exhibition, where we invite artists engaging in advanced digital technologies to take centre stage. This initiative marks a bold new chapter for the Surf Coast, introducing an interactive digital exhibition format never before seen in the region, especially in the context of an open call.
“This is more than an exhibition — it’s a platform for emerging creatives to experiment, collaborate, and showcase work that challenges traditional boundaries. By spotlighting the next generation of artistic talent, Hoop Gallery is creating space for fresh voices and future-facing ideas to shape the cultural landscape of the coast.
“Whether you’re working in virtual reality, interactive soundscapes or artificial intelligence, this is your moment to be part of something truly groundbreaking.”
Ms. Aldred emphasised that artists and the community can build something extraordinary together. Hoop Gallery is where creativity meets community.
All details and submission guidelines are available on Hoop Gallery’s website. EOIs close October 3, with artists to be notified on October 20.
Hoop Gallery is at 77 Beach Road, Torquay.
