A night out at The Other Place

Tracey McTeague and Michael Baker are back on the Shoestring stage in very different roles to when they were last seen together in October 2022.

There are some plays that are difficult to define, stories that exist in a genre that cannot be easily categorised.

Torquay Theatre Troupe’s latest production, The Other Place by US playwright Sharr White, is such a play, so dependent on its plot and characters that it is difficult to describe without exposing spoilers.

Juliana Smithton is a dynamic and successful medical research scientist in her early 50s. Just as her research leads to a potential breakthrough, her life takes a disorienting turn.

One step at a time, a mystery unravels as contradictory evidence, blurred truth and fragmented memories are revealed. Is the answer to the puzzle to be found at The Other Place?

Tracey McTeague and Michael Baker are back on the Shoestring stage in very different roles to when they were last seen together in October 2022.
