A steak sandwich for appetite’s large and small
We have had two nephews as house guests for a few days over Easter.
They are teenage boys and it has come as a shock to my wife how much food they plough through. I remember being 15 and eating mountains of food. In fact, an uncle of mine used to encourage us with competitions to see who could devour the most sausages in a sitting. The winner would always consume well over a dozen. Probably not so politically correct behaviour in these times of food correctness, but suffice to say, teenage boys have unusually large appetites.
One of their favourite meals this week has been a steak sandwich. I adore a well cooked steak assembled between two beautifully cooked slices of quality bread with all the condiments. Please indulge me while I take you step by step through my process.
