A SUNSET for the soul

January 8, 2018 BY

Up to 130 yogis made their way down to the Torquay Esplanade on December 30 to move, dance and flow for the second last time in 2017 for the Souls on Fire event.

Participants were treated to live music from Jakhali and The Firebirds, who got everyone up moving, with many families dancing away to smooth beats on the foreshore.

As the sun disappeared behind the cloud, the evening finished with a 60-minute yoga class instructed by Yoke Yoga.

Senior teacher Patchula Thompson thought the event was a great way to bring locals together before the end of the year.

“We love running this event each year,” Patchula said.

“It’s such a beautiful way to bring people together and connect with yoga during the busiest time of year. We can’t wait to run it again in 2018!”

Guests were also encouraged to bring a picnic rug and basket to watch the second-last sunset of the year.

Yoke Yoga are running classes every day over the school holidays.
