December 6, 2018 BY

Singer-songwriter Ziggy Alberts - one of triple j’s most played artists in November - is set to perform at the Torquay Hotel on January 25 as part of their Summer Series.

Ziggy Alberts latest track “Love Me Now” has racked up an impressive two million streams in three months with the triple j favourite arriving to Torquay on January 25.

Joining the Torquay Hotel Summer Series (THSS), singer-songwriter Ziggy’s “Love Me Now” has featured on the Shazam Charts for several weeks debuting at #11 on the ARIA singles charts; #10 on the iTunes digital charts and #1 on the AIR independent singles charts.

Ziggy has previously released two Eps: “Feels Like Home” (2012) and “Four Feet in the Forest” (2016) as well as two
albums, Made of Water (2013) and Land & Sea (2014).

For his latest album Laps Around the Sun he said he explores the process of coming out of one relationship and moving onto the next.

“I wrote most of these songs in this space but applied internally; the process of moving through one relationship with yourself, into a much healthier one,” he said.

“I also wrote most of these songs about a girl, Koda, who doesn’t even exist. There are other topics, including addressing some of the dangerous environmental challenges at hand that we need to continue to address.”

Having toured extensively (last year alone he played 11 countries during his Tell Me European Tour) he has amassed countless festival appearances and sold out shows.

Ziggy returned home to embark on his Heaven Tour playing to 2,000+ capacity theatres across Australia’s capital cities,
including Thebarton Theatre, Astor Theatre (sold out), Palais Theatre (sold out), QPAC Concert Hall (sold out) and Enmore Theatre (sold out).

Ziggy also played on the main Mojo stage at Byron Bay’s Bluesfest to 5,000+ fans, sold-out his first North America tour and a sold-out one-off show at the Scala in London.

At only 24 years old Ziggy has released four records, co-founded his own label Commonfolk Records and amassed over 105 million streams, globally.

His latest album Laps Around the Sun will be Ziggy’s fifth record and will be the first full-length album since his 2014 Land & Sea release.
