School Holiday Fun Guide – Special Feature

Geelong’s most epic water theme park, Adventure Park, is set to bring another mind-blowing and immersive family festival to the Geelong region these July school holidays.

Featuring a glowing winter wonderland of snow, lights, fire and ice, Adventure Park’s Winter Glow will be a school holiday festival not to be missed.

From June 25 to July 10, children will get to experience the feel of real snow for the first time with a massive snow play zone where they can make snow angels and build snowmen.Enjoy seeing local artists live ice-sculpt daily, creating beautiful works of art, and spectacular live fire twirling displays.

With two million stunning lights and hundreds of glittering light installations across the park, the Winter Glow festival of lights will be a feast for the eyes for people of all ages.

The Ferris Wheel, Wave Swinger, Crazy Coaster, Red Baron, Carousel and Little Buggy rides will all be running and all included in the entry price.

Gingerbread decorating, marshmallow toasting and face painting will be among the other kids activities while grown-ups can warm-up by the fire pits with a hot chocolate, spiced cider or mulled wine.

A range of decadent, specialty winter warming food options have been added to the menu for the event, including pizzas, sticky date puddings and chocolate molten cakes, in addition to menu favourites; burgers, hot dogs, chips and salads which will be available from venues within the park.

Driven by a gap in the region for children’s entertainment during winter, the owners looked to their own kids’ amusement for design inspiration.

“We’ve created an event with activities that we know our own kids would love to see and enjoy,” Leanne Salmon, Adventure Park managing director said.

“We felt the winter needed some fun to brighten it up and created the Winter Glow to give other families something to look forward to at a time when the park would usually be closed for winter,” she said.
