ACCLAIMED Australian singer-songwriter Lior will bring a stripped-back performance to audiences in a one-off intimate concert backed by a string quartet.

The performance will feature songs spanning Lior’s extensive catalogue and is designed to recreate the atmosphere of traditional salon-style concerts, where audiences experience music in close connection with the performer.

Lior first emerged on the Australian music scene in 2005 with his independently released debut album Autumn Flow.

Driven by singles including This Old Love, Daniel and the title track Autumn Flow, the album became one of the most successful independent debuts in Australian music history.

The release earned Lior three ARIA Awards nominations, including Best Male Artist, as well as a nomination for triple j’s J Award for Album of the Year.

Follow-up albums Corner of an Endless Road and Tumbling into the Dawn continued that success, debuting at number two on the Australian albums chart, topping the independent charts and securing a further three ARIA nominations.

Known for emotionally charged live performances, Lior has built a reputation as one of Australia’s most respected live artists while maintaining an independent approach to his music.

Supporting the show will be Spanish-Australian singer-songwriter Emilia Fol, whose music blends Spanish folk traditions with contemporary soul influences.

Inspired by the music, poetry and culture of her heritage, Fol’s performances draw on traditions passed through generations.

Lior will perform at Geelong Arts Centre on 3 July. Head to geelongartscentre.org.au
