ART EXHIBITION SHINES A LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS

The exhibition, which will be at Queenscliff Uniting Church Hall from Saturday February 6 to Sunday February 14, exposes, examines and challenges Australia’s response to their plight.

“Art has the power to open minds, touch hearts and challenge beliefs,” Cathie Bond, one of the four artists from Queenscliff Rural Australians for Refugees, said.

Ms Bond created the art installation after being inspired by the words of Martin Luther King Jnr:

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that”.

The other Queenscliff RAR artists are Veronika and Keith Quinton and Sue Longmore.

The exhibition has been travelling throughout regional Victoria during the past year.

Its return to Queenscliff provides an opportunity for re-engagement and new information on an issue that is fundamental to who we are as a society.

The Out of the Darkness exhibition is at Queenscliff Uniting Church Hall, corner of Hesse and Stokes streets, Queenscliff, between 10am and 5pm.

Entry is free.
