THE newly refurbished Bomboras has expertly timed its re-opening for the region’s peak season and its owners have ensured it has got the facilities and menu to cater to the crowds.

A staple of the Torquay Esplanade, the coastal haven’s fresh look is now defined by an extended bar trimmed with tiles and timber, materials used throughout the venue in floors, beams and walls.

With the onset of warmer weather an outdoor deck offers diners a perfect place to perch, and a fully enclosed side dining area can also be hired privately without the cost of booking the entire venue.

The private indoor and outdoor area can house up to 50 people and is furnished with its own bar, creating a perfect Christmas party location.

If an occasion necessitates the need for a big crowd to be accommodated, large table bookings are available or the whole venue can be booked for up to 100 people.

The Bomboras menu is similarly versatile in its ability to meet differing customer desires, with a variety of finger food that serves as the ideal accompaniment to a wide range of beers on tap, wines, spirits and cocktails.

An a la carte dining menu offers a wide range of seafood dishes to complement the venue’s waterside location, ranging from Bruny Island oysters served several ways to blue swimmer crab sweet potato cakes with wasabi mayo and leafy greens.

Salmon tartare, crispy skinned Barramundi and seafood linguini are also standouts.

The mains menu includes classics like beef burgers and 300g chargrilled, grass-fed porterhouses with chunky fries, twice cooked pork belly, as well as Pumpkin Gnocchi with lemon myrtle butter and goat’s cheese or Kimchi bowls with a variety of add on options like salmon, tofu or chicken.

The private indoor and outdoor area can accommodate up to 50 people.

There are numerous vegetarian options available and at least nine dishes are gluten free.

For children there are four separate stripped-down meal options of burgers, porterhouses, pastas and grilled fish.

The Bomboras team has paid attention to making the individual elements of the space sing, the fit out and interior design completed in partnership with Coastal Grain and Jacobson Love ooze style, so too the drinks and cuisine.

Put together as a whole, the experience is guaranteed to ensure that Bomboras will continue to cement its reputation as a number one destination for people looking to be charmed by their time on the coast.
