BOOTS ON FOR BELLARINE AGRICULTURAL SHOW
The 26th annual Bellarine Agricultural Show will be jam packed with fun family activities, and good old-fashioned country values when it kicks off on Sunday March 13.
The event begins at 9am with judging commencing in cookery, livestock, garden, machinery, and art and craft sections so get your entries in as early as possible.
Ribbons, certificates and prize money are on offer and entry details can be found at bellarineshow.com.au.
Demonstrations will be on throughout the day including shearing, sheep dogs in action, chaff cutting and crafts.
The kid’s discovery trail takes children on a journey throughout the show with several stops and rewards along the way for just $5, or they can catch farm rides around the show on the back of the tractor and trailer.
Other activities and attractions include the display of aged care residents’ arts and crafts, live music, a farm animal petting zoo, a gumboot toss, a vintage machinery area where two old work mates who haven’t seen each other since the 1950s will reunite to work on a 7 HP Foden traction engine, just like they did all those years ago.
Another highlight will be the showing of horses from Equine Learning Experiences Australia. These animals provide an opportunity for young adults to enjoy time outdoors and participate in a program of experiential learning.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for pensioners and children under 16, children under 5 are free and a family admission ticket is $25 for two adults and three children.
The Bellarine Agricultural Show is on Sunday March 13 at the Portarlington Recreation Reserve.
