Wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike are marking their calendars, as Wine Geelong prepares to present the second annual Pinot Affair in the greater Geelong region.

The world-class, cool-climate Pinot Noir from the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast and Moorabool Valley will be on display this month inr the second year of the Pinot Affair wine festival.

The three-day festival will run from May 19-21 across 13 local wineries in the region.

This year’s Pinot Affair will run over three days.

Wine Geelong vice-president Sam Vogel said he expects the Pinot Affair event to be one of the most fun and exciting events on the Wine Geelong calendar.

“Pinot Affair is a wonderful celebration of one of the great wine varieties of the world.

“The Geelong region produces some of the best Pinot in the country and the Pinot Affair weekend is an opportunity for everyone to revel in this greatness.

“With an impressive variety of wine-centered events being held at some of our best producers around the region, it really is a must-not-miss weekend.”

Expected highlights include Oneday Estate’s celebrations pairing live blues music with their Pinot Noir back vintages, as well as the “Pinot Piazza” to be held at Austin’s Wines.

The event will celebrate Pinot originating from Geelong’s three diverse sub-regions – the Surf Coast, the Moorabool Valley and the Bellarine Peninsula – each offering a variety of wines grown in differing soil and conditions.

Austin’s Wine co-owner Belinda Austin said the “Pinot Piazza” event would pair the varietal with very best in Italian delights, including Pinot ragu, meatball sliders and cannoli.

“The Pinot Affair weekend is a sensational event that provides a great opportunity to celebrate both Geelong wineries and our favourite variety
of wine.

“Austin’s Wines relished in showcasing our hero wine through a weekend of fun with an Italian twist. We are thrilled to offer an experience that will suit everyone including child- friendly day sessions across the weekend to an adults-only sunset session on Sunday complete with pasta, music and Pinot.

“It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy Pinot Noir with style and entertainment.”
