The Ugly Cousin

The Ugly Cousin, a mobile cocktail service, is the brain child of Katie Boag and is bringing a touch of class to events across the region.

With tailored packages to suit every event and budget, revellers around the Surf Coast and Geelong are enjoying live entertainment with a twist.

“I have experience in bars and events so I decided to combine these two things to create The Ugly Cousin. I love the element a cocktail bar brings to a party, it gives people something to watch and talk about and it’s a lot of fun,” Katie said.

Having worked in the music and hospitality industry for several years, Katie said a photo of a friend holding a cocktail in front of a pop up bar spurred her into action.

With five staff on board the new business venture, The Ugly Cousin teams believe cocktails discourage binge drinking while encouraging revellers to enjoy the tastes and experience of a cocktail.

“We make all the classics but also offer up something a little different including a chocolate orange espresso martini, a bohemian martini and my favourite a jalapeno and grilled pineapple margarita.”

The Ugly Cousin can offer a cash bar, full pre-paid cocktail packages or bar only hire, tailoring a package to suit any event.

“I love bringing that special touch to people’s events and offer free quotes and tailored packages,” she said.
