Coffee stop hits Moriac
Moriac has welcomed its very own drive-thru coffee store thanks to the hard work of Shine Hospitality.
Included as part of the Mount Inn precinct on Princes Highway, pub manager Chris Shine said the addition of the “Mount Inn Coffee Stop” will see the number of motorists travelling on the busy road able to stop for a caffeine hit and a bite to eat without getting out of the car.
“My company Shine Hospitality has worked with the Mount to conceptualise the Mount Inn Coffee Stop to provide the increasing traffic on the Princes Hwy with a quality early morning coffee and snacks option,” said Chris.
“Open from 5am weekdays for tradies and those on the land, as well as 7am on weekends, our snacks are made inhouse by Anthony Catania, our head chef, and his team.”
Keeping in tune with Chris’ goal to foster the town’s locals, the six crew members operating the Coffee Stop each call Moriac home.
“The selection of crew is paramount and to start with we have given employment to six locals who are particularly vibrant in the mornings, so we aim to provide great coffee and snacks by bright people who want to be there early,” Chris said.
“Having done a few 4am starts over the first two weeks, I must say I’m glad we’ve got these guys as it’s a tough gig starting before the sun comes up.”
The Mount Inn Coffee Stop menu includes a bacon and egg roll, a ham, cheese and tomato toastie, homemade sausage rolls, muffins, warm donuts and a muesli cup with dried fruits.
Drive-thru coffee and food is available from 5am weekdays and 7am on weekends and public holidays. Mount Inn is located at 1,115 Princes Highway, Moriac.
