Day comes east for local show

December 1, 2017 BY

Western Australian folk-rock artist Tom Day is travelling to Deans Marsh as part of his When I fall single tour.

His latest single “When I Fall” is the result of a session that involved partnering with award-winning engineer James Newhouse (The Waifs) and much-loved singer-songwriter/producer Dave Mann.

Tackling the serious topic of mental health issues and the relationship strains that are rife within the music industry, Tom’s lyrics and dynamic guitar playing delivers a quintessential Australian feel for the song, while driven by a classic drum shuffle.

Based in Margaret River, Tom Day is rapidly making a name for himself thanks to his phenomenal guitar work and foot-thumping, energetic stage presence.

Having already supported such names as Shaun Kirk, Kallidad and Morgan Bain, Tom has also jammed live with Kim Churchill, Tom Richardson and Benny Walker.

“I’m super stoked to now be going on my own national tour,” Tom said.

“I’m just chomping at the bit to get started. I want my audiences to have as much fun as I do while I’m up on stage and have them dancing the whole time.

“I write most of my songs inside my bus where I live. I think the best way to describe my music is folk-rock and I’ll be perfoming some of my old songs, some new and some no one has even heard yet, but they’ll be out on the next EP.”

Tom will be at the Martians Cafe in Deans Marsh tomorow (Friday). For more information and tickets, head to tomday.com.au.
