Dolly tribute show to rock into Potato Shed
Drysdale’s Potato Shed will be rocking and a rolling next month when the venue pays tribute to the exceptional life of country star Dolly Parton.
The Dolly Show will see renowned West End performer Kelly O’Brien take centre stage on October 6 to recreate the vitality, voice, style and humour of the lady from Tennessee.
Acclaimed as one of the world’s best tribute performances, Ms O’Brien will perform the country legends’ best hits, including Joelene, 9 to 5 and I Will Always Love You.
The one-night performance will also feature a full band who will accompany Ms O’Brien’s tribute.
The West End performer said she was very excited to be visiting Melbourne and Drysdale again todeliver Dolly down under.
“I really can’t believe I finally get to bring the music, the life and the star Dolly Parton to the Potato Shed.
“I haven’t been to Drysdale in years, this is going to be so much fun!”
Geelong mayor Trent Sullivan said he was delighted to be welcoming the award-winning Kelly O’Brien to The Potato Shed.
“By all accounts Kelly O’Brien looks and sounds just like Dolly Parton, I expect that many people will really be able to relate to her performance,” Mayor Trent Sullivan said.
“She has won the UK National Tribute Awards for four consecutive years and comes to our region with a reputation for putting on an outstanding and fun show.
“I’m excited that the Potato Shed is again able to host such a high-quality entertainer.”
The show is already proving incredibly popular, with only theatre seating remaining.
