A NEW space in Torquay is cultivating and inspiring human connections by bringing local business and artistic individuals’ together on creative projects in a warm and purpose-built space fit for any occasion.

In Cylinders Drive, Torquay, Feast Studios is the first creative space of its kind on the Surf Coast and provides a photography, video and ecommerce studio for both business and individual clients.

Co-founded by Surf Coast locals Georgia Dodd and Lloyd Will, the venue is inspired by their love of the creative industries and their ambition to create something unique within the local community that has heart and a deep connection to art culture.

Georgia comes from a photography and stills background and brings more than 14 years of working in the freelance world to Feast Studios.

She has interned in several studios in both London and New York and has worked with staples brands including Country Road, Cotton On, Nike and Kathmandu.

Lloyd is an aspiring actor and director and brings plenty of experience to Feast. He started a creative content agency called Hatsoff in 2011 and has worked with Australia Post, Qantas, Dulux and Lululemon.

While having travelled around the world to various studios, the pair regard Feast Studios as their ultimate “dream creative space”.

Lloyd and Georgia have only recently opened Feast Studios in the last month.

The space exudes plenty of colour and warmth.

“With decades of experience in our respective creative industries, Georgia and I wanted to create a space that we wished we could’ve worked in,” Lloyd said.

“Often studios feel a bit clinical and uninviting… we wanted to create an environment that feels like home so that people who use the space feel welcomed and comfortable.

“We’ve never found a studio on our creative journey’s that we felt really comfortable with and that’s where Feast Studios comes in.

“This new space is our space but your place… it’s from the heart, and we think it inspires people to connect.”

Both Georgia and Lloyd come from creative industry backgrounds and hope to bring their experience to the local audience of the Surf Coast.

The space has already been utilised by a suite of business and individual clients.

Feast Studios operates on a business-to-business cliental level as well as through their business to customer model where Feast contact individual artists.

Lloyd said Feast Studios tries to separate themselves from the crowd by exuding a coastal and colourful vibe that gives customers a sense of warmth when they walk through the doors.

“For each client, we go in the day before and make sure the space looks inviting and super comfortable.

“We’ve got the incense burning, the candles are on and it’s colourful and it’s warm.

“All the clients have to do is come in and bring their work… the rest is taken care of.”

Lloyd said the facility has attracted some fantastic cliental, including larger local brands.

“We’ve had an incredible response so far… it’s been overwhelmingly positive from the clients who have used it.

“Some of the larger local brands such as Rip Curl, Rojo, CottonOn and Stage Two have loved using the space and the large cyclorama backdrop to shoot promotions, e-commerce, photos and videos.

“Some smaller local businesses and individuals have also loved the space for its flexibility.”

Lloyd said he and Georgia have grown their cliental through running specialty events including art exhibitions.

“We recently ran an exhibition with four local artists and partnered with Feed Me for the catering… it was really successful!

“The feedback from the local community at the event really opened our mind to how important a place like this can be for our community.

“It attracted so many people that we’d also never met, so it was amazing to just get the word out there about us.”

The pair classify Feast Studios as their “dream creative space”.

Lloyd said the sky was the limit for Feast Studios and that he and Georgia has plenty of fun ideas and aspirations.

“We hope to create a sense of community through the business and organically grow it to give our customers the right ingredients to bring their creative dreams to life.

“We can facilitate that space for them to utilise to share their skills and spread their messages with the world… that’s really exciting.”

The Surf Coast pair are hoping that Feast Studios compliments the Surf Coast’s fantastic reputation for creativity.

The team also has goals of working with locals in the community to run workshops, programs and classes that celebrate creativity and arts culture.

“We love what is going on down here on the Surf Coast from an arts and cultural perspective.

“We are privileged to be a part of it and we think Feast Studios compliments it all really well.

“We are super passionate about fostering creativity down here on the Surf Coast and can’t wait to see what the future holds!”

Feast Studios is tucked away in Torquay’s industrial estate, at Unit 4, 7-9 Cylinders Drive, Torquay.
