THE SURF COAST Community has rallied once more to ensure the Easter Bunny visits kids that find themselves on the children’s ward at University Hospital Geelong this Easter.

Spearheaded by a Torquay local, for the fourth year in a row Mel Lee has collected the Easter bounty including chocolate eggs, non-chocolate treats, Easter craft and books and Easter bunny ears so staff can deliver them to patients and their families over Easter.

Nurse Unit Manager for University Hospital’s Cotton On Children’s Ward Sandra Van Roon said the donations were appreciated not only by the children themselves, but their families.

“Spending time in hospital during the holidays can be a challenging time for children and their families, however community support such as this always helps to brighten the day of our patients,” Ms Van Roon said.
