July 18, 2018 BY

FRIDAY 20/7

Get to the Point of No Return

The award-winning Point of No Return arrives to the Potato Shed this weekend. Based on true events surrounding Point Puer Boys’ Prison in nineteenth century Tasmania, and is written and directed by Alaine Beek. A story about coming of age; the search for belonging and hope for a future beyond the horrors of convict life. The show is on Friday July 20 at 1pm and 8pm, and Saturday July 21 at 8pm. Tickets available at the Potato Shed, or by calling 5251 1998, or at any City of Greater Geelong Customer Service Centre.

SATURDAY 21/7

The Heartache State arrives

Get moving to the Heartache State and Lazy Bones at the Torquay Bowls Club. With Justin Garner and Nick Barker having played together for over 15 years, their high intensity live performances are renowned. Three years ago, they hunched over some acoustic guitars and hammered a bunch of ideas into songs that became the Heartache State’s self-titled debut album. Get ready to rock to support act Lazy Bones’ self-described sound of “born of the blues played from soul”. Tickets are $20/25 available at the bar on the night or via trybooking.com/WFSW.

SUNDAY 22/7

Under the influence of words

Love Winter in Aireys is inviting writers, readers and lovers of the written word to enjoy and share stories as part of Under the influence of words.
