Fashion foot forward
It takes confidence to embrace fashion and while this comes easily to some, the prospect of a new wardrobe is overwhelming to others.
Loretta Whitford from Ele Personal Styling believes that all women deserve to look and feel their best and offers a personalised service to help her clients feel fabulous.
“I encourage women to treat themselves with the love and kindness they deserve.
“I’ll indentify gaps in your current wardrobe, sort some key pieces and help you let go of some of your old favourites that aren’t doing you any favours,” Loretta said.
“Maybe you’ve had a baby, got a new job, retired or had a major change in your life and feel a bit lost. I’m here to help you find your confidence again.”
Loretta said often clients just needed a gentle steer in the right direction to help put them back on the fashion track and find what works best for them.
“My holistic approach to personal styling goes way beyond just owning beautiful clothes. I help you rediscover the version of yourself that you used to know or have always wanted to be.
“My passion is to help women develop their confidence and find their own true style; this means taking into account their body shape, likes and dislikes and what they feel really good wearing.”
While Loretta offers a personal styling service, a wardrobe overhaul and a personal shopping experience the outcome is all the same, boosting a client’s self-worth and esteem.
“I often get asked about fashion trends but style is more important; it’s not about following the latest trends blindly but dressing for your shape and what suits you best,” she said.
“My rule is that you should dress in what makes you feel good and accentuate your best features. A lot of people are such harsh self-critics constantly comparing themselves to the media and Instagram when we just need to focus on being the best version of ourselves.
“I want women to know not to get attached to the size on the label. The shops sizes vary greatly and it gives so many women the wrong impression because they go from being a size 10 to a 16 somewhere else. Women should focus on how it fits over the size.”
Loretta said this summer bold colours, floral prints, polka dots and the nautical theme will be in abundance, and for those looking for an easy day to night wear transition, look no further then the shift dress.
“If you’ve been at work and are time-poor you change your shoes into some strappy sandals or heels, add a leopard clutch, some dangly earrings and a scarf and you’ve got a great evening look.”
