Federal Mills Park Pops with culture

December 5, 2017 BY

Geelong family-owned business Popcultcha is opening a brand new collector gallery in North Geelong.

Located at the thriving Federal Mills Park precinct, the gallery will display a huge range of high-end statues, busts, replicas and action figures from brands such as NECA, Sideshow Collectibles, Hot Toys, Kidrobot and Funko to name a few.

On Saturday December 2 at 9am, the Collector Gallery will officially open to the public, with a grand opeing party to take place later that afternoon.

Between 3pm and 11pm, their outdoor stage will light up with a blistering line-up of bands, including Grindhouse, Dukes of Deliciousness, Sheriff and The Mojo Corner.

The Federal Restaurant will be grilling up a storm in the front courtyard, with two outdoor bars by Prickly Moses and Asahi, gourmet barbecue food, live bands, raffle prizes, a jumping castle and activities for the kids. Popcultcha director Ash Howard said, “We officially ran out of space in our Geelong City store a few years ago, so this warehouse store space gives us the ability to showcase all of our great collectables and art in a gallery style format”.

“This gallery space is truly dedicated to the collector of art and pop culture in all forms. It will be a unique one-of-a-kind space that has not been done in such a scale anywhere in Australia or beyond.

“We often use the tagline ‘Geetroit Toy City’ in our business. We are trying to do our bit for Geelong’s transformation from a blue collar working class town to a progressive multi-industry city.

“The Popcultcha Geelong City store will undergo a renovation and transformation in 2018 to ensure it’s still a fun space for people and families in the city to pick up gifts and collectables.

Popcultcha’s Collector Gallery grand opening party is located at the Federal Mills Park, North Geelong. Entry is free.
