THE Pierce Brothers will make a much-anticipated stop in Barwon Heads next autumn, locking in an April 11 show at the Barwon Heads Hotel as part of their newly announced 2026 Australian tour.
The folk duo will return home in March following an early year run of shows across the United Kingdom and Europe.
Their Barwon Heads performance will form part of the first major national outing for Moonrise, the Pierce Brothers’ fourth studio album, released in late November.
The pair recently debuted several Moonrise tracks at the Queenscliff Music Festival, giving fans an early glimpse of the material that will shape their 2026 setlist.
Jack Pierce said the festival appearance played a key role in refining the new arrangements before the national tour gets underway.
“We’ve already started experimenting with new instruments on stage … so we’re building a whole new set,” he said.
“Right now, we just need to find those little surprises in the new songs; the things that we can do extra that make the moment special. We’re constantly looking for those little 1%ers.”
Reflecting on the album, Jack said its release had marked a significant moment for the brothers.
“I’m so stoked to have this album out in the world,” he said. “We worked hard all year in between heavy touring to get this over the line, and it was a monumental effort from everyone involved.
“Some of the tracks on this album are some of the proudest I’ve been in songwriting, storytelling and production.”
With international touring set to tune the band up ahead of their return home, Jack said the duo expect to hit the Australian leg in strong form.
“We can’t wait,” he said. “First up is Europe, so we should be in fine form by the time these Aussie shows come around.”
Comprised of twins, Jack and Pat Pierce, the Pierce Brothers began their career busking the streets of Melbourne before building an international following through their energetic live performances and blend of indie folk, blues and roots.
They have since released multiple ARIA-charting records, including two top 15 albums and several top 10 EPs, and toured extensively across Australia, Europe, North America and South Africa.
Their breakout 2014 EP The Night Tree and subsequent releases have helped cement their reputation as one of Australia’s most recognisable folk acts.
