A MYSTERIOUS theatrical adventure will be sweeping through Geelong Arts Centre over the next two nights (Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30).

Night Night is the latest project from Perth creative powerhouse The Last Great Hunt and is a spellbinding celebration of creativity and innovation in live performance.

Blending puppets, animation and DIY digital magic, Night Night follows scientist Pip as she searches for the origin of life in the frozen desolate landscape of Antarctica.

Her journey takes an unexpected turn when she encounters a ghostly penguin and a glowing, otherworldly entity.

Audiences are swept along a haunting and imaginative adventure as Pip grapples with the choice between scientific ambition and moral responsibility.

Performers and creators Arielle Gray and Tim Watts act out and record the mysterious tale, while a projector screen reveals the live theatrical film as it’s being created – offering a rare and thrilling fusion of cinema and theatre.

Night Night is part of the REWIRE 2025 program and is proudly supported by the state government through Creative Victoria and Deakin University.

Geelong Arts Centre director of programming Penny McCabe said excitement was high heading into the decorated performance.

“Our REWIRE program is all about innovation and pushing creative boundaries, Night Night encapsulates those themes brilliantly.

“It’s truly a one-of-a-kind experience that will test the audiences’ perception of what live performance can be.”

Last-minute tickets are on sale for $35 for adults and $32 for a concession.
