Great Australian Beer Festival returns

Love beer? Then head along to the 7th annual Great Australian Beer Festival (GABF) held at the Geelong Racecourse on February 16 and enjoy a selection of beers and ciders.

From 1pm until 8pm, enjoy tastings or a can of your favourite artisan brew, kick back and relax with a cider and enjoy all the festival has to offer.

Smoking slow cooked meats and Geelong’s best burgers, a rockin’ piano bar, beer cocktails, coffee martinis, slushies and wine just to mix it up for non-beer lovers.

GABF co-director Michael Ward said there will be three stages featuring a diverse line-up of live music.

“Mick Thomas, The Settlement, Great Gable and Grand Wazoo are just a taste of what’s to come, it’ll be one ripping day filled to the bream with memories”, Mr Ward said.

“Celebrate great beer, with a smorgasbord of artisan brews from across the Geelong, Bellarine, Surf Coast the otway regions.

“It’s the only place in Australia you will find all these local brewers in one place But the line-up is complemented by a star-studded list of brewers from across the nation with the likes of Balter, Stone & Wood, Coopers and Young Henry’s making the long trip.”

He siad GABF overflows with fun, from  the moment you set hands on your tasting glass, until the time you’re “tipping back your last beeror cider of the day”.

“Before you know it, you’ll be jamming along with the live music, snacking on delicious food, and indulging in a range of timed-honoured games of chance”, Mr Ward said.

“Now that’s a perfectly crafted experienced!”
