Handpicked world-class fabrics at home

Amitié Textiles

Amitié Textiles, one of Australia’s leading fabric and quilting stores, is a reflection of owner Jen Kingwell’s passion for bright, contemporary and quirky fabrics.

Having recently relocated from Melbourne to Torquay, Amitié Textiles stock a huge range of modern and traditional fabrics suitable for patchwork, dressmaking, quilting, home decor and other craft sewing projects.

Specialising in Japanese and international designer fabrics that cater to all ages and traditional and sophisticated tastes, Amitié Textiles has fabric for everyone.

Owner Jen launched the store in 2005; and with daughter Lucy joining the family business in 2008, they’ve gone from strength to strength.

Providing customers with beautiful quality products for close to a decade, the duo import hand-picked fabrics from across the world chosen for their unique beauty and quality.

Amitié Textiles also offers a wide range of other crafts, classes and coffee.

“We have a strong focus on family and community based values. We always wanted to create a space where visitors felt instantly welcome. Our café being at the front of the store greets guests with the aroma of coffee and cakes baked on site – I love it. The space just feels like home,” Lucy said.

Located at 87 Beach Road, Torquay, the store is now open Wednesday through to Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

Customers can also shop online and join the Amitié mailing list by heading to amitie.com.au.
