Humans in Geelong book launch draws a crowd
A 400-strong crowd piled into the Villawood Properties hangar on Sunday for the Humans in Geelong book launch.
The 232-page book – which took three years to develop – is a community treasure that represents the work undertaken by volunteer-run group Humans in Geelong.
It features 40 inspiring stories about the region’s talented, creative and engaged members, while also celebrating people who have contributed important efforts for the benefit of the wider community.
The launch was as colourful as it was lively, with live music, food, and political leaders contributing to its success.
Humans in Geelong volunteers took to social medial to pay thanks to those who helped champion the book, particularly the people who voted for the project in the state government’s “Pick My Project” community grants initiative.
The self-titled book will be distributed to schools, libraries and community groups across the region at no cost.
