The fog is rolling in, the shadows are lengthening, and a shiver of excitement is running through Geelong. This September, for the first time ever, the iconic horror-comedy show, Dracula’s, will be sinking its fangs into the city’s vibrant arts scene.

For decades, Dracula’s has been synonymous with electrifying performances, unforgettable characters, and a seductive blend of cabaret, circus, and theatre. The brainchild of family-owned Newman Entertainment, founded in 1964, Dracula’s is a cornerstone of the Australian entertainment industry. With a legacy spanning over six decades – including three generations of the family who continue to push the boundaries of live performance – Newman Entertainment has entertained millions.

Newman Entertainment’s commitment to innovation is evident in every aspect of their productions. Tikki & John’s, their pioneering theatre restaurant, laid the groundwork for a bold and unforgettable entertainment experience. This legacy is carried forward in Dracula’s, which has evolved over the years, always staying fresh and relevant while maintaining its quirky charm.

Now, Geelong’s residents have the chance to experience this phenomenon firsthand when ‘Dracula’s: Sanctuary’ takes over the historic Geelong Arts Centre for three thrilling nights (September 12 until 14).

From death-defying aerial acrobatics to knockout vocals, Dracula’s: Sanctuary promises an unforgettable spectacle. But this isn’t just about dazzling visuals and jaw-dropping stunts. Dracula’s has always been a breeding ground for local talent, and Sanctuary continues that tradition. The show boasts a cast of local and international artists, with performances that push the boundaries of Australian entertainment.

The inclusion of Geelong in the national tour is a testament to the city’s growing cultural influence. With its rich artistic heritage and thriving theatre scene, Geelong is the perfect stage for Dracula’s: Sanctuary.

For those familiar with Dracula’s outrageous reputation, the show promises to deliver. Expect a healthy dose of adult humour, risqué costumes, and a cast who thrives on audience interaction. Ever had a cocktail served in a blood bag? Or how about a coffin flask? Dracula’s: Sanctuary is more than just entertainment; it’s an immersive experience where you can forget about day-to-day life and enjoy a night of fun and laughter.

Newman Entertainment chief executive Luke Newman said audiences should expect the unexpected with Dracula’s.

“What people love about Dracula’s is that you’re never quite certain what you’ll see, but you know you’ll love it. After a season at our Gold Coast venue, ‘Sanctuary’ has been completely re-worked for the road, to be bigger and better than ever. It’s a spectacle of seduction and silliness, with plenty of fangs, feathers, and flirting. It’s naughty, in your face and pure energy. It has it all, and you won’t want to miss it.”

Whether you’re a seasoned fan or simply looking for a unique and unforgettable night out, Dracula’s: Sanctuary offers something for everyone. This is your chance to witness a piece of Australian entertainment history in the making. Don’t miss your opportunity to be part of the Dracula’s legacy.
