September 3, 2022 BY

Head back in time to the rockin’, boppin’ ’50s and ’60s with a spectacular rock ‘n’ roll tribute show coming to Geelong this September.

Presented by Dion & Randall International, the Shake Rattle ‘n’ Roll show is bringing iconic rockabilly jukebox hits from the ’50s and ’60s back to life with an all-singing, all-dancing, all-out stage extravagant stage production.

The production is a playful recreation of Wolfman Jack’s famous radio broadcast, which will bring back to life the rockabilly ’50s and ’60s jukebox hits that rocked a generation, with a troupe of 15 dynamic singers and award-winning Latin ballroom dancers.

The colourfully choreographed stage production first debuted in Melbourne in 1993 and will celebrate 30 years since it immortalised the days of rock ‘n’ roll.

Adam Dion and Nina Randall, the dynamic duo that makes up Dion and Randall International, are partners in both creative endeavours and partners in life, recently celebrating their 41st wedding anniversary.

Dion, Producer and Director, and Randall, Producer and Helpmann Award nominated Costume Designer, said they curated the show with a focus on bringing the high energy fun of the ’50s and ’60s roaring into the 21st century with state-of-the-art sound, staging and effects.

“Our fully choreographed stage production revels and delights in the era of poodle skirts, bobby socks, high collars and jive dancing to tunes that get you up and dancing in the aisles,” Dion said.

The duo have toured a long list of successful productions around Australia and Asia, building a reputation for vivid, creative, well-loved stage spectacles.

The show’s Choreographer and Principal Dancer, Aric Yegudkin, has worked in highly acclaimed studios such as Dancing With The Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, and Sonia Kruger’s dance fitness platform ‘Strictly You’, and boasts a successful career in choreography as well as in multiple dance competitions around the world.

“You get a taste of the best of the era in Shake Rattle ‘n’ Roll, not just Elvis, or Johnny O’Keefe,” Yegudkin said.

“It’s a euphoric jukebox of the best hits that ensures every audience member is smiling as they leave the show.”

The tour has already rocked and rolled its way through Western Australia, Tasmania and South Australia and Victoria and is now making its way to Geelong, showing at Costa Hall at 8pm on Saturday September 10.
