It’s time for Christmas fun in Geelong

FAST gaining the reputation as the “Christmas Capital of Australia”, Christmas in Geelong is going to be extra special this year with exciting new events and activities alongside the traditional favourites.

There is something for the young, young at heart and everyone in between.

From Lara to Barwon Heads, from Hamlyn Heights to Armstrong Creek, Christmas will be celebrated in a myriad of ways right across the region.

The spectacular launch of the Floating Christmas Tree last Saturday heralded the start of Christmas in Geelong.

Don’t worry if you missed the launch, you can catch the Floating Christmas Tree’s Sound and Light nightly until January 8, 2023.

Got a young family? Don’t like being out after dark? Then why not plan to see the new, weekly, early evening, free family-friendly Sound and Light Show on the Floating Christmas Tree, kicking off early December.

Venues such as the Carousel, Potato Shed, Geelong Botanic Gardens, Kardinia Pool, Lara Pool and Balyang Par 3 Golf Course are sharing in the spirit of Christmas.

Join Santa and Mrs Claus for Morning Tea. Singalong with Granny Lee. Take a masterclass in food and wine, make a Christmas wreath and more.

We know that many of you love your fur babies and this year you can commemorate the season by having a Santa Photo taken with your pet at locations across Geelong. If you can contain them, you can bring them along.

Want to stay at home to create your Christmas cheer? There so many suggestions for you on the website, from crafty activities, singalongs and Christmas trivia to keep your brain boxes ticking over.

 

Sporty types can enjoy a round of Christmas Golf; ride a wave with Santa’s Elves; enjoy the sunshine by the pool and unwind with a yoga class before the Big Day takes over.
