Keep warm and entertained at the Potato Shed

AS THE weather cools, what better place to stay warm and be entertained than at the Potato Shed?

Laugh along with some of our best comedians on July 8 when Women of Wit 2023 hits the stage. Featuring Nicky Barry, Patti Fawcett, Daisy Webb and Cal Wilson (Spicks and Specks, The Weekly), your sides will ache, your heart will go pit-a-pat!

The Geelong Welsh Ladies Choir celebrate 25 years of singing what is arguably the most lyrical and uplifting music in the world. Help them mark the occasion on July 30.

WERK IT on July 22 combines never-seen-before acrobatic feats and jaw-dropping skill. The buzz of Adelaide Fringe Festival 2022, WERK IT is the low-carb lovechild of a tradie, a spin instructor and a cross-fit fiend. Day-glo wear optional.

 

Audiences asked, and The Roy Orbison and Everly Brothers Tribute – Legends of Rock n’ Roll is strolling back into the Shed on August 4.

What do you get when you combine members of the Melbourne and Australian Opera? An inspired interpretation of Bizet’s Carmen! One afternoon only; August 5.

The End of Winter, on August 19, poses sobering questions around climate change – will winter be erased forever? Essential theatre for our times.

George Orwell’s timeless classic Animal Farm has been reimagined by award-winning performance group Bloomshed and will be retold from August 22.

The July school holiday show is a retelling of the beloved Jack and the Beanstalk. Jack enters a talent show and ends up with three magic beans. Audience participation is a guaranteed. From Tuesday, July 4.

In September, 3…2…1… Blast Off with Theatre 3triple2 4 Kids, when the ‘Spud Nik’ lands on September 25.

Next July, our monthly Morning Showtime series features award-winning vocalist Lyndal Alderson singing the best of Dusty Springfield and Connie Francis.

 

In August, Bellarine’s own Pl@n B will traverse the music of your youth, from Sunbury Pop Festival to Countdown – do yourself a favour!

Also in August, Colin Mockett presents The Authentic 1950s Geelong Sing-Song. The words will be on our big screen, fun is guaranteed and there are prizes for best 1950s dressed audience member.

In September, Lennon vs McCartney vs Harrison will attempt to find out just who is the greatest of them all. Researched and presented by Colin Mockett.
