King Brothers to rock out in Geelong

Japan’s King Brothers are heading back to Australia for the first time since 2016, with five gigs lined up.

The band hits Aussie shores in September, performing at Geelong’s Barwon Club on September 5.

As part of their tour, the trio are also releasing a limited edition Australian tour LP, HELL OH! OZ.

Released today (Friday, August 23), the LP features 12 songs and is limited to 300 copies.

Kings Brothers lead singer and guitarist said the aim of the LP was to create a work that instantly let people understand what kind of band they are.

“From our first album released by an American indie label in 1998 to the present in 2024, we’ve continued to play these 13 tracks live for around 26 years, and we’ve completed this album as a work that rushes through them all at once.”

Formed in 1998 in Nishinomiya, the band has gone on to play at Fuji Rock Festival, Goner Fest and were on the bill at the 2017 Meredith Music Festival.

Their coming tour will deliver fan favourites as well as some new tracks as they take the stage in their black and white suits for what’s set to be a high-octane performance.

Keizo said fans could expect some wild rock ‘n’ roll born in a far eastern island nation.

“Maya with his guitar screams will immediately dive into the audience urging you to rock ‘n’ roll right now from above your heads.

“Let’s release everything and become one with us, a single mass of rock ‘n’ roll.”
