Lorne’s golden opportunity for free thongs
LORNE residents could have a golden ticket for a free pair of thongs waiting in their mailbox, thanks to an initiative from a leading manufacturer.
Archies Footwear has launched its happiness project, which aims to gift a free pair of pluggers to every home in Australia, with Lorne the next stop on its nation-wide tour.
The company will be dropping off its golden ticket vouchers at Lorne houses, which have a town-specific redemption code that can be redeemed through the Archies website for a $40 pair of thongs.
Archies staff will drop off the footwear this Monday, January 31.
Archies are the brainchild of physiotherapist Daniel Jones, who began the business at Echuca-Moama in 2015.
The business is now the country’s leading arch support thong, selling at 3000 stores and health practices across the country.
AFL superstar Dustin Martin is an ambassador for the brand.
Jones began the happiness project as a way to spread joy to regional areas of Australia that had endured a difficult two years, as a way for the business to give back to Australians that had supported it since its foundation.
“We were chatting in the office about how tough 2020 and 2021 have been on Australians right around the country, and throughout New South Wales and Victoria in particular,” he said.
“We thought a gift for a free pair of Archies was something we could do to show our support. Many of our staff at Archies have a strong connection to regional Australia, and to be able to support the regions with a gift like this is something we are very proud of.
“So to the residents of Lorne, please keep an eye on your mailbox as you may just be receiving a golden ticket for a free pair of Archies. They’ll be perfect for summer.”
