Market gets a make-over

November 6, 2017 BY

THE new and improved Aireys Inlet Market rejoins the coastal community this Sunday with the first market of the season.

New owners Libby and Mic Stapleton said residents will be able to immerse themselves among stalls that must adhere to the new home-grown, handmade, recycled, vintage or local requirement.

“Council voted for the continuation of the Aireys Inlet Market earlier this year following an extensive public submission process that received overwhelming support from the local community,” Mrs Stapleton said.

“The first market is fully booked wiht stallholders across the regions eager to display and sell their wares.

“We’ve been contacted by people who are so excited and passionate about the continuation of the Aireys Inlet Market.”

Ms Stapleton said the market supports tourism throughout the region by providing spin-off benefits for local businesses as well as providing an outlet for local artists and food producers to promote and sell their goods.

“It is a vibrant and popular attraction in our town, as demonstrated by the fact that 94 of 103 submissions received by council were in favour of the market continuing,” she said.

“Visitors to the Aireys Inlet Market on Sunday will find a mix of regular stallholders, who have proven popular at the market over many years of trade, along with a number of new faces who are trying out original creations and fresh products.”

The Aireys Inlet Market runs from 9am to 1pm at the Aireys Inlet Community Hall, it will be the first of 14 markets this season which rum 2017 until June 2018.
