AUSTRALIAN festival lovers will be flocking to Deniliquin this month for the Deni Ute Muster for two days of music, mateship and of course, the iconic ute.

Returning for the first time in three years, the 24th Deni Ute Muster, on Friday September 30 and Saturday October 1, is one of the most popular ‘bucket list’ events in Australia and attracts close to 20,000 people of all ages for a jam-packed fixture of entertainment.

The Deni Ute Muster was established in 1999 with a vision to put Deniliquin on the map and is said to provide an experience like no other as it is quintessentially Australian and extremely unique in relation to the way Australians love to live and the outback way of life.

The 2022 festival boosts an amazing lineup of musicians who are set to grace the Muster’s Main Stage including Jessica Mauboy, John Williamson, The Angels, Busby Marou, Ian Moss, international country superstar Brad Paisley and many more.

Australian pop superstar Jessica Mauboy is absolutely thrilled to be playing at the Deni Ute Muster for the very first time, describing the festival as one on her bucket list and one that she holds in the same breath as representing Australia at Eurovision.

“It’s going to be my very first experience of heading to Deniliquin to be apart of the Deni Ute Muster and I absolutely can’t wait,” Mauboy said.

“People have their bucket lists they want to in life and this is certainly up there for me as I’ve heard so many amazing things about it.

“For me, the honour is up there with Eurovision as I feel it is so special to be able to do something like this on Australian soil and on the lands of elders who I had met during my time filming for the Sapphires movie years ago.

“The festival obviously holds many good memories for people who have attended in the past and to share that atmosphere with the 20,000 people who haven’t had the festival for three years is going to be very special and a joy for all.”

Mauboy said she felt honoured to be part of an incredible lineup of artists and also expressed her excitement for all the amazing activities and giveaways that come with being at the event.

“I could go on for absolutely forever about the lineup, it is just mindboggling,” Mauboy said.

“To be on the same bill as people like Felicity Urquhart who I grew up listening to and memorizing her music as an eleven-year-old girl, to John Williamson who is a storyteller and such a gracious man of his given art, to Uncle Troy Cassar Daley who’s stories melt my heart.

“As well as the lineup I am really looking forward to getting involved with the crocodile obstacle course as the crocodile is my native totem, so I might just sign myself up!

“There is just going to be so much to do and even a Toyota Hilux to give away, I mean who doesn’t love that.”

Mauboy said her performance is likely to delve right into her catalogue and fans should expect all her number one hits as well as some throwback country songs.

The Indigenous artist said she also has an amazing outfit in the works with a Melbourne designer which is something personal and specifically made for the Deni Ute Muster.

“I want to gain the full experience at the event and really immerse myself in it,” Mauboy said.

“The energy is going to be electrifying especially seeing that people have waited three years for this moment.

“Everyone’s patience is building up and I’m sure when we get to Deni it’s going to be so memorable to share that with all the people who have held their excitement and emotions for this.”

Mauboy hoped people would come from far and wide to attend the event and said that she hoped that the sense of adventure would see fans from the Surf Coast, Geelong and Bellarine area descend.
