New beer has an old inspiration and launch is reason to celebrate
For those wanting to get in early for their Christmas party or work breakup Little Creatures is launching their third single-batch Reinhold release for the year on October 20.
Colleagues can enjoy an Octoberfest inspired break-up and dance along to an oompah band with a Reinhold in one hand and a giant pretzel in the other.
Reinhold, a Sticke Altbier style described by Freemantle Little Creatures head brewer Russ Gosling as bold and mysterious, is never brewed the same way twice.
“We developed the recipe for the Sticke Altbier back in 2013 and it’s been on the back burner since then waiting for the right time for a big dark German number,” he said.
“That time is now with toffee and fudge dominating the aroma and some grassy hops peeking through. Initial assertive bitterness gives way to biscuit or cake like malts with toffee and dried fruit characteristics, reminiscent of Oma’s dense fruit cake.”
He said the brewers sought out an “old beer” with the word “Alt” derived from the German word for old relating to the beer’s maturation time frame.
“The end result is a smooth, clean and flavoursome lagered ale and while the recipe is a little secretive, the flavour is undeniable.”
The free event will run from 3pm until 9pm and is open to all beer lovers, while also being a perfect opportunity for companies looking to avoid the silly season rush for their Christmas party.
For those searching for a meaningful gift for their loved ones with a penchant for craft beers, Little Creatures Reinhold Single Batch is available in 568ml pint bottles online.
