Photographer and artist Karen Pegg always loved the view from the skies and when she had the idea to capture and share those images in a book, she turned to friend and neighbour Lindy Lee.
Lindy, a pilot, said Karen approached her over Christmas drinks several years ago and floated the idea about flying her around so she could capture aerial views of the region.
“I’ve been flying for just over 30 years. My father flew, and I picked up an interest but didn’t learn until I began working and could pay for my lessons,” she said.
“My husband (now deceased) was a pilot, and my son works as a pilot for Qantas. We ran a flight charter business and I have a plane on my property in Ceres, just west of Geelong.
“The idea for the book was Karen’s. She contacted me (being a neighbour and a friend that’s a pilot with a plane) and it all just came together.”
