THE Surf Coast community has the opportunity to explore smarter, healthier and more affordable ways to get around at the inaugural EV and e-Bike Expo this Sunday, April 6.

Organised by Parents for Climate, the expo will showcase the latest in electronic vehicles and e-bikes while showing locals how they can cut fuel costs, reduce pollution and get active.

“Families are feeling the pinch of rising costs and many are looking for ways to reduce expenses while making healthier choices,” Parents for Climate’s Laura Billings said.

“The EV and e-Bike Expo is a chance to explore options that are better for your wallet, your health and the environment.”

Electric vehicles and E-bikes offer smarter, healthier and more affordable options for travellers.

At the expo, attendees will have the chance to test drive the vehicles and bikes, while experts share their knowledge through talks and a Q&A, the kids will also be well entertained with free craft activities.

John Paul Lopez Taberdo from Geelong Cycles will be one of the guest speakers on the day.

“E-bikes are a game-changer,” he said.

“They allow more people to ditch the second car, reduce transport costs, and make cycling a practical, everyday option.

“Many of our customers tell us they feel fitter, healthier and more connected to their community after switching.”

The upcoming event follows the success of a Drysdale expo held in November last year which had a high turnout and demand for test rides and expert advice.

Guest speakers will also be in attendance at the upcoming expo.

Organisers are expecting the Torquay event to be just as popular, with people encouraged to make sure they book their places early.

Everyone is welcome to attend the event, made possible with the support of Parents for Climate, Surf Coast Shire Council’s Surf Coast Event, Geelong Sustainability, Torquay Improvement Association, Good Cycles and Bair eBikes.

The free expo will run from 2pm until 5pm at the Torquay Improvement Association.
