Pitch not perfect, but ok

January 18, 2018 BY

The Barden Bellas are back for one final performance in Pitch Perfect 3.

Having graduated university and ventured out into the world, the Bellas find themselves dealing with dreary and hateful jobs that are dreaded by all university students.

Desperate to sing together once more, the girls decide to do a tour with the US army in order to perform for the armed forces and their families.

Unfortunately, despite all the girls being skilled singers, they find themselves ridiculed by the other bands performing, who, unlike the Bellas, use instruments in their performances.

The girls must now show they’ve got what it takes while dealing with the various insane hijinks that ensue during the tour.

This film wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. It was just okay.

Some of the humour was pretty entertaining, however, other segments were cringe-inducing.

Also, the character of Chloe (Brittany Snow) was incredibly irritating. In nearly every scene she was in, I just cringed.

Thankfully, the rest of the cast manages to pick up the slack, especially Anna Kendrick as Becca and Australia’s own Rebel Wilson as Fat Amy.

Their characters were one of the few I actually cared about, not to the mention the actors gave good performances.

This film is all about singing and, as such, the music is a high point. It’s catchy and fun to listen to and the performance sequences are all really entertaining.

In the end, I’d say this movie was decent. It was a bit silly and some of the characters could be annoying.

There were some entertaining characters though, as well as some entertaining moments. I’d say this is good film for a girls’ night out.
