The Queenscliff Music Festival is bouncing back from interruptions in the recent past, revealing last week that tickets for the 2022 event will soon be available.

Postponed and ultimately cancelled twice over the past two years, the festival announced its “triumphant return” in an email to subscribers.

According to the email, QMF will return to its usual three-day format from November 25-27 this year, and these tickets will go on sale on May 5 at 10am.

QMF 2022 release 1 tickets prices are as follows:

  • 3 Day Adult – $275
  • 3 Day Accompanied Youth 14-17 – $135
  • Children 1-13 – $20 (sold in conjunction with an Adult ticket)
  • QMF Camping – $50
  • Glamping – from $670.

All tickets will be subject to an additional 2.5 per cent processing fee and 50c per ticket.

Single day tickets will go on sale in July, subject to the availability of 3 Day ticket sales.

There’s no word yet on who’ll be actually playing at QMF this year. The email states lineup announcements will be “coming soon”, and QMF’s website states announcements will be made in mid-2022.

Typically held in late November, the QMF usually offers its tickets up for sale early in the year.

The 2020 edition was cancelled in July of that year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Organisers pressed on with trying to bring the festival back in 2021, putting tickets on sale from July 1 and having more than 85 per cent of the total allocation for 2021 snapped up by early August. However, in early October, they conceded they had run out of time to pull the 2021 event together, as the event could not proceed without access to event cancellation insurance or a Victorian Public Events Framework in place for QMF’s application to be assessed against.

Local fans have not been entirely bereft of festivals since 2020, though, as the QMF team announced By The Pier, a three-day festival (but with only one stage) held in the same place on the Queenscliff foreshore.

Held from March 25-27 this year, the inaugural By The Pier was headlined by Vera Blue, Client Liaison, San Cisco, Julia Stone and Briggs.
