RIDING THE THOUGHT TRAIN

November 13, 2017 BY

Pupils at Torquay College used the footpath outside their school as their canvas as they drew chalk “thought trains” last week. The school-wide activity was the first event in the college’s Wellness Week (part of National Mental Health Week) and was inspired by a talk by The Anxious Bird’s Jules Haddock, who earlier told the pupils about different kinds of thoughts and how they were expressed (or not). Ms Haddock said the thought trains were a way for children to share potentially difficult thoughts and make sense of the steps in the thought process. “There’s no judgement; a drawing’s a drawing”.
