Australian singer, songwriter, poet, producer and mentor Shane Howard is taking the stage at the Queenscliff Town Hall for a performance with his band.

The band, made up of Richard Tankard, Ruben Shannon and Marcus Ryan will perform on October 4, sharing songs and stories from their time together.

Howard has been active in the music scene for more than 40 years and has earned many accolades.

He was a founding member of Australian band Goanna, which has released four albums and in 2022 embarked on a national tour, performing 30 concerts, including one in Geelong.

Goanna also performed at the 2022 AFL Grand Final playing “Solid Rock”, which was the first commercial song to use a didgeridoo.

The song was added to the National Film and Sound Archive ‘Sound of Australia Collection’ in 2018 after being identified as essential in helping define Australian history and culture.

Howard was also a founding member of the Black Arm Band, an ensemble that brought together influential Aboriginal artists to tour around the world.

Throughout his solo career, Howard has released 14 solo albums, the most recent Dark Matter in 2020.

He has also produced songs for the likes of Archie Roach, John Farnham, Jessica Mauboy and Missy Higgins.

Howard and the band will be joined on stage by special guest and Queenscliff local Rose Bygrave.
