SINGLE VINEYARD 2013 PINOT NOIR HITS THE SPOT

February 5, 2016 BY

It has received many accolades; a highlight being taking the trophy for Best Wine across all varietals in the Australia-wide Boutique Wine Awards, judged by the esteemed wine writer Huon Hooke (from the Sydney Morning Herald). A magnificent season and perfect conditions combined with the deft touch of the intuitive winemaker Daniel Greene created the perfect precursors to this special Pinot Noir.

It is drinking wonderfully, developing slowly and showing great promise for wine collectors who love to cellar their interesting finds.

Blessed are the locals who get to live nearby the amazing wineries of the Surf Coast region of Geelong.

Visitors to the region should take advantage and drop into the rustic Brown Magpie Cellar Door.

Beautiful views, a calm and tranquil setting, and an atmosphere focused on wine tasting makes for a lovely meandering afternoon spent in the Surf Coast hinterland. An easy diversion from the Great Ocean Road makes the trip worthwhile indeed.

Brown Magpie has many other awardwinning estate-grown and produced wines. Although the wine is widely available in various restaurants and liquor stores in the region, a few can only be purchased at the Cellar Door such as the 2013 Paraparap Reserve Pinot Noir, of which only two barrels where produced.

The Brown Magpie Cellar Door is open on weekends until the end of April and reopens in the first week of November.

The opening hours are 11am to 4pm. Brown Magpie Wines is at 125 Larcombes Road, Modewarre.
