Sought-after Aussie cover band heads for Torquay
ACCLAIMED Australian trio Captain Spalding will perform at the Torquay Bowls Club on Saturday August 17.
Comprising of Tom Spalding, Dave Campbell and Ken Murdoch, the band have been delivering exciting shows to audiences since their formation in the early 80s.
Having visited over 6,000 locations – from backyard birthday bashes to big crowds across South East Asia – the Spalding odyssey continues to delight fans.
Voted “best cover band” of all time by Melbourne breakfast radio listeners, Captain Spalding has held major residencies at the Geebung Polo Club, Edwards Tavern and the Sloaney Poney.
Captain Spalding have also performed at corporate events which has seen them travel from the Whitsundays to Japan, China, New Zealand and every major city in Australia.
Highlights have included the Melbourne Grand Prix (Mercedes-Benz after party), Alice Springs Masters Games and Hamilton Island Race Week.
The current line-up features founding members Tom Spalding (vocals and acoustic guitar), Dave Campbell (guitar, vocals, keyboards and harmonica), Ken Murdoch (keyboards, vocals and guitar) or Billy Mathews (keyboards, vocals and saxophone).
The band is occasionally supported by guest appearances from dance duo Rebekah Howard and Natalie Kalkbrenner.
