Team Hemley Training

From working as a physical education teacher to an exercise physiologist, Michelle Hemley has spent a lifetime immersed in sport.

With more than 20 years in the industry, Michelle has successfully worked with thousands of athletes from grassroots level to elite performance.

Michelle founded Team Hemley Training in 2012, which has gone from one junior triathlon consisting of eight participants to a company 500 members strong.

The Hemley team change the way people approach swimming, surf and triathlon sports with swim squads, a swimming and triathalon club and online coaching services available nationwide.

Michelle has also launched a new venture, the Regional Institute of Sport and Exercise (RISE) in collaboration with Corio Bay Health Group, which will bring world class athlete development, health and wellbeing services to the area.

Michelle will lead RISE as its CEO and is particularly excited to manage the Sports Academy at Surf Coast Secondary College as part of this initiative.

Passionate about active lifestyles, Michelle is a former elite athlete who met her husband, Dale Hemley when they were both competing at the World Ironman Championships in Hawaii.

After growing up in Perth and then living in Queensland for three years she is now proud to call Torquay home, living her childhood dream of a house by the beach.
